Brent began his Peace Corps service in Liberia in June 2014 as a high school math teacher. After three months, he was evacuated due to the Ebola epidemic and completed his service in Zambia as an Environment and Food Security Extension Agent with the LIFE Program until April 2017. From 2020 to 2024, Brent served as Director of Operations – Africa Region for Bridge Carbon, a nonprofit organization, where he managed projects totaling over $100 million in investment across 18 African countries. These initiatives focused on empowering vulnerable communities to address climate change and promote sustainable development. Brent also co-founded Kagunda Women with his wife, a nonprofit that provides vocational training and business management support to women in Zambia. Additionally, he contributed to Friends of Liberia as a co-leader in updating our Strategic Plan.
