Jefferson Krua earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Cornell University and an M.S. in Transportation Systems Engineering from Virginia Tech before working as a systems analyst with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority for five years.

Fed up with the low standards that are prevalent in the media in Liberia, Krua moved to Liberia and founded the high-quality news outlet, The Bush Chicken, which has since been setting the standard for quality journalism in Liberia. The news outlet has gone on to be recognized as Liberia’s best, winning the most Press Union of Liberia excellence awards between 2017 and 2019.

Since moving back to Liberia, Krua has brought over US$1 million worth of investments into the country, including Pinkberry Liberia, the first American food franchise to exist in post-war Liberia. He also personally owns several startups, including Mako’s Fruits, a collection of smoothie and juice bars.
