August 2020 was Lyn and John Kucij’s 50th wedding anniversary, which they celebrated with a few family members in their backyard. They were shocked when their son, Noah, gave them a card which listed several dozen people who had donated to what they dubbed the “Kucij Africa Fund.”
The Kucij Africa Fund was secretly established by the Albany church, where John and Lyn have volunteered for the past ten years, to assist with their programs in Liberia. It was several thousand dollars and they were very moved.
The Kucijs have divided the donations among a number of Liberian and other West African programs, including Friends of Liberia’s own Family Literacy Initiative. We are so grateful for their support!
