C.B. Dunbar Maternity Hospital and Phebe Hospital in Bong County got materials to prevent transmission of COVID-19 through a grant from Friends of Liberia. The grant provides funds to buy prevention materials for communities and hospitals in Bong County, Liberia.

Our COVID-19 Task Force has been working hard evaluating proposals from Liberian led organizations who are doing their part to combat the deadly virus. This is one of several projects that have been completed.

Forty cartons of bleach were given to C.B. Dunbar, and another twenty were given to Phebe Hospital to help improve infection prevention and control. The authorities from both hospitals wanted to extend “heartfelt gratitude to Friends of Liberia for the donations and promised to utilize it for the intended purpose.”

Additionally, 200 hand washing buckets and 2,000 locally made reusable face masks were distributed in Sugar Hill, Phebe Airstrip, Sergeant Kollie Town, and Suakoko Communities. The project was implemented by five hardworking volunteers.

Thank you to everyone who made this project possible! A special thanks to all of our donors, whose generosity makes these projects a reality. We want to continue funding important work.
