The Community Women’s Initiative for Children of Ebola Victims (COWICEV) and the Positive Change Women and Girls Initiative (POCHAWOIN) were the first joint-group to receive a COVID-19 project grant. Now they’ve begun their implementation.
Focusing on Sanoya district, COWICEV and POCHAWOIN have led several awareness activities. Their team members have held community meetings where they discuss transmission and demonstrate prevention methods, including proper hand washing techniques and how to wear face masks.
The team has also made appearances on the local Sanoya radio station to discuss COVID-19 awareness and create a jingle. They will continue implementing their plans and providing us with updates.
