Friends of Liberia will be honored at the NPCA’s Peace Corps Connect Conference for its work to help combat the Ebola epidemic in 2014-15. Along with Friends of Sierra Leone and Friends of Guinea, FOL will be presented with NPCA’s 2016 Loret Miller Ruppe Award for Outstanding Community Service by keynote speaker, President Sirleaf. The award is to recognize outstanding affiliate groups for projects that promote the Third Goal of Peace Corps or continue to serve host countries, build group spirit and cooperation, and promote service. We were told that FOL as a group exemplifies that spirit of practical idealism that remains infused in the Peace Corps and stays with us for life as RPCVs! Read more about the award here.

We hope that members in the DC area and those attending Peace Corps Connect will be able to attend the award ceremony and join us later that evening to celebrate. Hope to see you there!
